Using Wiggle

Use widgets and Control Centre

On iPhone, you can see your home on the Home Screen and change the heating or boost the car from Control Centre. You need iOS 18 or later.

Android and the web app do not have widgets or controls at the moment.

Add a widget

  1. Touch and hold your Home Screen.
  2. Select Edit, then Add Widget.
  3. Choose Wiggle, then choose a widget and a size.
  • Your home. Home's first cards. To choose others, touch and hold the widget and select Edit Widget.
  • Heating. The temperature inside and the set point, with − and + to change it.
  • Battery. Your battery's charge and what it is doing.
  • Car. Your car's charge and today's target from Octopus.
  • Rate. The rate now and, on the wider size, today's rates.
  • Grid carbon. How much carbon the grid's electricity carries now, and when it is greener.

If you have several appliances of one type, touch and hold the Heating, Battery or Car widget and select Edit Widget to choose one. If you tap a widget, the card opens in Wiggle.

Add a control

  1. Open Control Centre.
  2. Select + at the top of the screen, then Add a Control.
  3. Search for Wiggle, then choose Heating warmer, Heating cooler or Boost charge.
  • Heating warmer and Heating cooler move the set point by half a degree.
  • Boost charge asks Octopus to boost your car's charge, or cancels the boost.

What they need

  • Widgets show what Wiggle last loaded, so open the app if a figure looks old. An older reading shows "Read" and its time.
  • To make a change, you must unlock your iPhone.
  • Any member of the home can change the set point or boost the car. Before a boost can work, an owner must turn on Allow changes in Octopus. Until then, the control opens the car in Wiggle.
  • If a widget says "Open Wiggle to show your home", open the app once. Signing out clears your widgets.
