Using Wiggle

Connect your car, battery or solar

Connect your appliances, so that Wiggle can show them beside your energy use. You sign in with the manufacturer, and Wiggle never sees that password.

Only an owner of the home can add or disconnect an appliance. Every member can see what is connected.

Add an appliance

  1. Open Settings, then Connections.
  2. Under Appliances, select Add appliance.
  3. Choose the type of appliance: Electric car, EV charger, Home battery, Solar inverter, Heat pump or heating, or Energy meter.
  4. Choose the manufacturer.
  5. Select Continue to sign in, and sign in with the manufacturer. Enode, our connection partner, shows this step.

Wiggle then looks for your devices. This can take a minute. You can carry on using the app, and the devices appear when Wiggle finds them.

If you cannot find your manufacturer

The list comes from Enode and changes over time. If your manufacturer is not there, select "I don't see my manufacturer/model" and tell us the manufacturer and model. If a manufacturer says "Unavailable at the moment" or "Unavailable during maintenance", try again later.

In the web app, some manufacturers say "Unavailable in the browser". Connect those in Wiggle on iPhone or Android.

What Wiggle reads and changes

Wiggle reads details such as charge level, power, solar generation and temperatures. It never asks for your appliance's location.

Where the manufacturer allows it, you can also ask Wiggle to make a change from the appliance's details screen. For example, you can start or stop charging, or change the heating. Wiggle changes an appliance only when a member asks it to.

What the status means

  • Connected through Enode. The connection is working.
  • Looking for devices. Wiggle is checking the manufacturer account.
  • Readings delayed. You do not need to do anything. Wiggle will try again.
  • Reconnect needed. An owner must open the account's menu and select Reconnect.

If Wiggle says that it "can't make changes" to an appliance, select the message to see why. You may need to reconnect it and allow changes.

Disconnect an appliance

  1. Open Settings, then Connections.
  2. Open the account's menu, select Disconnect, then confirm.

Wiggle stops reading the account. Readings already recorded stay in your history. To remove every account at once, select Disconnect all appliances.
